Date hiked: 5/3
Trail Conditions: Ridge trail was wet from the recent rain but not too muddy for the first 1.7 miles or so. After that point, there were sections of snow, (monorail basically) and and some slick icy patches. the snow was firm due to the cooler temps, so no issues with postholing. the rocks and ledges were snow free but wet. the summit was clear of any snow or ice and was nice and dry. pretty warm up there as well, considering the wind and clouds! steam crossings all easy.
Special Equipment: none required, although poles very helpful. carried snowshoes but did not need them. some traction might have helped on some of the icy sections but we barebooted the whole way.
Comments: A nice hike considering the weather was not great. saw several others on the trail. some doing the loop with the roaring brook trail.
