This was my monster 26ish mile paddle, 13 miles from Glasco Landing in Glasco (the very end of the Glasco Turnpike which goes over the Thruway) up to Catskill Point where Warren and I paddled too when we camped on an island in the middle of the hudson and paddled south.. Got a early 6am start from NJ to launch at 8am for a expected long day, 4 hours to get to Catskill, 1/2 hour lunch and like a 4.5 hour return trip which was longer than I expected. Did not lollygag too much on this trip knowing I had dinner plans and another drive after this but worked out in the end... My wrists were pretty sore from all the paddling and my heels on my feet were in pain. Seems like paddling shoes have grippy soles for water traction but don't have paddling in the heel which is resting on the bottom of the kayak with your feet on the foot pegs. (fixed).. But happy to have done to lonnnngg paddle in one trip rather than 2 fairly short trips, but this also means that I didn't get a chance to 1)Paddle up the Esopus 2)Check out Tivoli bay again... Oh well, someday I'll be back..
