Goose Eye, Mahoosucs between Goose Eye East and Carlo and Carlo trails in good shape, but they can be a bit problematic to follow without a trail guide. After following Goose Eye to where it came out on a second road, I couldn't find the trail. Two other very nice hikers, Ron and Catherine, couldn't either, so we followed the road up towards Goose Eye and when it stopped at a landing, Ron used his GPS to take across a skid road until we found the trail. After that the trail was easy to follow. They returned on the same trail and left a note indicating that one needs to go left on the second road .1 mile to pick up the trail.
I completed the loop to Carlo and could follow the footpath through the Dillon clearcuts, but I wouldn't have wanted to try doing that after a snowfall. It comes out at the end of the drivable road which has been extended farther up the mountain quite a ways from Goose Eye's TH.
These trails, and Success Trail have signs out on Success Pond Rd. Success Pond Rd. itself isn't signed coming off the paved road in Berlin.
Overall a very nice easy hike with good views. No blowdowns, no special equipment needed, unless one wants to factor in the GPS.
