Doing a last minute ski trip to either Gore or Whiteface on Friday. Any comments on conditions from anyone who's been either place recently ???

I was at Gore this past Saturday. Conditions were very nice and the weather was great. If it were me I would go to Gore. It tends to hold up better, particularly in low snow years like this winter. Plus, the summit chair was being repaired at WF last I heard.

Whiteface closed to the top....
... i think.
I was there a week ago. The Summit quad was broke and it looked like it was going to be down for the season.
With this snow i would consider the berkshires or the catskills.

sara and i x-c skied up the toll road last saturday and the conditions were amazing.....oh wait, your looking for downhill considerations 
anyway, we talked to some people in town that were at whiteface and they said the summit chair was down BUT these people were able to get a ride up in the snow cat.... that would be pretty cool
i would heed rondak46 suggestion and head south... the new snow (even though wet) will be fun to play in..
