What: Power Point Presentation / ADK Binghamton Chapter
Title: Shaping the History and Lore of the High Peaks
Where: Gandor Mt, Lodge Room Harry L Dr., Johnson City
Cost: Free
Program Summary: The Forty-Sixers want to weave two icons of mountain preservation into the fantastic lore of the Adirondacks. The Grace Peak Committee is proposing to re-name East Dix, Grace Peak for Grace Hudowalski #9 and South Dix, Carson Peak for Russel M.L.Carson.
We will explain the connection between “Peaks and People of the Adirondacks”, the 46ers of Troy and the Adirondack 46ers.
We will explore the history of how the mountains got their names and the procedure to rename them.
