Route begins at south meadow parking lot, diagonals to the register, goes to Marcy Dam, Lake arnold, feldspar, lake tear of the clouds, up/down herd path to Gray, to four corners,
up/down Skylight, ascent Marcy and then return via Indian falls.
Old road to marcy dam was dry and in fine shape, the trail to Lake arnold was in very good shape and shows signs of improvements. The crossover to feldspar is notoriously a mess and we encountered misaligned boardwalks and had many opportunities for soakers (twas fun though). Trail to Lake tear of cloud outlet much better. Herd path was in good shape, although we missed a recent improvement that avoids an awkward rock climb on the ascent (it was more obvious on the descent). Trails to Sklight and Marcy in fine shape. Beyond marcy, the boardwalk continues to sink into the bog and is below water. Some seriously muddy patches in the col beyond, but most of the trails were in really good shape for the return to south meadow.
Gear: sunscreen, bug spray, water proof shoes, lots of water

Comments: Had skylight to ourselves for our lunch summit time. Marcy and Haystack are awesome from there. No, we did not set out to wear artists’ primary colors.
