Good Day. Has anyone been on the Great Range trail recently that could verify the trail conditions? Looking forward to a possible hike in that area Saturday or Sunday, March 15th or 16th.

We were on Haystack Tuesday. The conditions are good and bad:

The trails are pounded down (there was a little snow Wednesday). Once above tree line, you will encounter very hard ice, about 1" or more thick. Crampons and/or an ice axe will be a necessity.

Signs and markers are buried under snow, so be careful as you go that you do not miss turn offs.
