Sad news for the New Hampshire hiking trails community this week.
Harold M. Graham, 84 - Laconia Daily Sun

If you don't know who Hal was, he spent decades doing trail maintenance across the state. He was involved in the founding of the AMC NH Chapter Volunteer Trail Crew, the Trailwrights, and the Belknap Range Trail Tenders (BRATTS). He was still doing heavily trail work (e.g. building stone steps, waterbars, etc.) well into his 80s.

If you've hiked the Franconia loop, Artist's Bluff, Mt. Pemigewasset, Mt. Cardigan, or just about anywhere in the Belknaps, you've benefited from his work.

The BRATTS have a tremendous void without him.

Rest in peace, Hal.

A celebration of life for Hal will be held at the Gunstock base lodge from 3-5 PM on Sunday, May 21.

I met Hal and his wife Peggy way back when he founded Trailwrights with an initial focus on the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway Trail. He impacted me with the importance of trail maintenance where I eventually became a trail adopter. We'll miss you Hal.
