Beautiful morning for a hike. Hancock Notch to Cedar Brook to Hancock Loop. Bareboot to junction at base of Hancocks. Nice firm footbed, no issues with stream crossings. Put on Hillsounds for remainder of hike. Ascended South Hancock, firm and slick the whole way. Microspikes would have been challenging as there was an inch or so of fresh snow on top of firm. Some drifting on ridge between peaks but never more than ankle deep. Saw another solo hiker ascending north peak and a group of three on there way in. Around zero on top, but pretty comfortable as winds were light. Glad to have gotten out before the big polar plunge. Jeb W-B
