Date of Hike: 7-10-11
Trail Conditions: All trails in good shape, water levels low. No blowdowns that I noticed specifically. First time on the slide, but I think it was drier than normal? There was a safe (non-wet) route, which from what I read prior to going may or may not be the case for everyone depending on the recent rain. Bushwhack at the top was painful, but short.
Special Equipment Required: Poles helped for the loose stuff on the slide. Put them in the pack for the steep part. Otherwise lots of water and bug dope/sunscreen if you use that protection.
Comments: A rare day in the whites. 70's, breeze 5-10mph, saw maybe one cloud the entire day. Perfect conditions. Quote of the day when we reached the outlook on North peak and appeared from the bushes, we were greeted with: "Is that *really* a trail?"... my friend responded "It is now".
