trail Conditions: Hancock Notch Trail packed out and perfect for snowshoes..water crossings solid..Cedar Brook Trail..packed out and excellent for snowshoes..water crossings solid. Hancock Loop trail to the split..well packed out and excellent for snowshoes. North Hancock side of loop..semi packed out with varying postholer damage. Trail solid on the rail but loose deep snow to the sides..Ridge Trail..varying amounts of fresh drifted powder with some packed areas and some areas of heavy postholer damage..we did what we could..trail now packed out for snowshoes..mud pits gone for the season.. a couple of quite narrow spots through snowcovered overhanging trees..South hancock side of loop..packed out by snowshoes..a couple of slippy spots on the descent but overall fine
Equipment: snowshoes the order of the day both for traction and flotation..some in group used micros for ascent with good results though some postholing..snow not really consolidated so snowshoes slipped in places but overall adequate..Cold day with some breezey spots.
Comments: fine winter day out with bright sun lots of snow a mostly packed out trail good views...life is good
