That's the motto on bumper stickers for the 38-mile Cross Rivendell Trail (CrossRivendellTrail.org somewhat outdated) which was officially dedicated Saturday to an audience of over 50 people although individual sections had been opened earlier.

On hearing complaints that the proposed innovative bi-state Rivendell School District was too large, one proponent suggested shining signal lights from Flagpole Hill in Vershire VT to Mt Cube in Orford NH (are you listening, PB?). This was expanded into the idea of a trail connecting them, much of the work being done by teachers and students with financial support from the school district and many others. Educators are amused to be called "the district with a trail".

I have hiked the section to Cube, and will do the section up Bald Top in the next week. I hope to hike it all, as I only live a couple mile south of the trail....
I love the idea of using a trail as an outdoor classroom and as a way to unite these 4 towns into one school community. I wish I could have gone on saturday. :(

You don't have a selection for "Did trail work on the trail". :) A good friend from college was the guy who laid out the trail and was in charge for the first 3-4 years, so I hiked some big chunks of it and did trail work on several others.

Should have thought of that, and another line for board member/school superintendent

Your friend spoke at the dedication Saturday along with other dignitaries
