I just found out I don't have to work next weekend so I'm thinking of hiking up to Hawthorne Falls on Friday, staying at the Garfield Ridge Shelter and hiking out Saturday in time to see the Kentucky Derby.
If anyone is interested in the walk to the falls, please suggest a departure time from the Gale River trailhead parking lot.
