Trail from the Garden to JBL was wet and muddy, but not as bad as we had feared given all the recent rain. From JBL up to Slant Rock was quite muddy, but again not too bad and easily navigated. From Slant Rock up the trails were quite wet with lots of running water and loose rock. Bugs were not an issue the entire day. 
We arrived at the summit alone and spent a good half-hour there before anyone else arrived. We could see quite a few people over on Marcy as we enjoyed this fantastic summit alone. The Views from the Top were great!
We spent the night before at the Bear Brook leanto (~ 1 mile from the Garden). We left there at 5 am and were back around 3 pm. After packing up we left and were back at the Garden by 4:15.
