Phelps Trail clear all the way to Slant Rock from Garden. Some intermittent snow above Slant Rock to Shorey Shortcut jct. Past here snow deepens to about 3-4 feet. Snowbridges holding well. Monorail is too narrow to walk on but a firm packed barebootable snow surface exists alongside. Range trail less packed and sloppy but also barebootable. Some minor blowdown. Alot of water underneath snow and snowbridges less stable. Haystack Trail deep snow to base of Little Haystack, but all clear beyond. Carried snowshoes but didn't use them as they would have been of little help. Some in the group wore microspikes. A great day to become a 46er!
