Right, I wasn't implying that you are stealing and I know that spiders are searching and caching our content all over the place.

I like your site a lot, and I think the community could work together to help alleviate the problem that some people are worried about, namely our trail conditions reports are now spread over several sites.

Kimball, I just spent some time playing around on your website. What an outstanding job you did!! Thank you!

Updates

I made a few updates to TrailsNH.com:
- Mapped the WMNF Road Status
- Trail Conditions from AMC Bulletin Board
- Linking to a view feature (maptype, zoom level, and location)
- Mobile version performance improvements

Updates Feb-18

I made a few updates to TrailsNH.com:

- Worked with Cara at MW OBS to add their Trail Conditions forum.

- New feature for public (you) to move trip report map markers. It seems a small number of markers are not well placed.

- Currently working with Diane at New England Hiking Meetup to add her trip report forum.

Updates: April 2010

I made a few updates to TrailsNH.com:

  • Trail Conditions from AlpineZone
  • Trail Conditions from New England Hiking Meetup
  • That brings the feeds for trail conditions up to 8 sites
  • Live regional radar images, from 2 sources
  • Webcams, Photos and Wikipedia

Reminder: Most (36) of the forest roads are still closed. Road status is scanned and updated every morning and pinned to the TrailsNH map.

Was on the Mt Clinton Road yesterday (not a forest road but a state one). Technically, it's open, but ... have never seen so much winter debris. It took longer to drive around the stuff that it would have to go down to Fabyan and then up the road to the Cog.

The Jefferson Notch road is still closed.

NH 4000 trip reports

Peak Baggers may find this new TrailsNH feature helpful.

http://trailsnh.com/NH-4000.php

I added an index containing just the last three trip reports for each peak in the NH 4000 Footer list. There are links to take you to either the trip report or the map. The index is updated once a day, every morning at 5am.

Just took my first look and I like it alot, it sure will save time jumping from site to site. I think first hand reports are the way to go for the high peaks, espechally this time of year, nice job.

Some new TrailsNH features

I've been working on something I call Trail Watch. It monitors new trip reports. You tell Trail Watch where to watch and it emails you the links when new trip reports are found. You can check it out here:
http://trailsnh.com/TrailWatch.php?VFTT

I added a filter to the Trail Conditions Map so you can look at trip reports just from the VFTT forum:
http://trailsnh.com/index.php?source=VFTT

Also added booksmarks to the compiled list for NH4000, so you can hop to a specific peak. Like Kinsman for example:

New TrailsNH features:

trailwatch-promo.jpg

Trail Watch monitors incoming trip reports. You tell Trail Watch what area to watch. Trail watch sends you an email when someone hikes there, with a link to their trip report. Visit http://trailsnh.com/TrailWatch.php to register and check it out.

Place Finder moves and zooms the trail conditions map right to your next destination. Just enter the name of your peak and press Find.
