Anyone ever climb Henderson Mountain #68 out of the Adirondack 100 highest? IT looks to be pretty excessable from just behind the Bradley Pond Lean-to. Anyone ever try this approach? If so are there any views from the top or the climb up?

Thanks,
Adam

Thats a good way to go. Like most bushwacks, getting lucky on the route can mean the difference between open woods and thick going, just a hundered yards apart. When we did it, we found it fairly thick going on the way up. On the descent, we headed straight south from the summit for about 1/8 and then headed down. We found the woods more open there. Next time we go, we might start up a little further south of the leanto, or bear a little south from the leanto on the ascent.

When I did it (a week or so after Peakbagger, I think) I had open woods the whole way. I don't think it took much more than a half hour-45 minutes from the lean-to. As Peakbagger said, being a hundred yards or so to the side can make a big difference. I was lucky THAT time.

There are interesting views through the trees.. But it was in the fall when I did it. If the forest had a lot of hardwood (I don't remember) there could be views which are not there in the summer.

Anyone climb it from W shore of Henderson Lake ?
Have considered that rte after 1st paddling to mouth of Northernmost brook that drain it's E slopes. Map show's N branch of that stream originating near summit
