Does anyone have a favorite route up to Mt Passaconaway. It will be a first for me and my friend and we were planning on going early next week. It looks like we could go from the Kanc on the Passaconaway trail or from the south and take Dicey's Mill trail or Wonalancet range trail. Since I tend to get lost without good signage, that would be a consideration. We won't be going to Whiteface on the same day. Also, do you think we'll need "stablicers" near the top? Thanks.

The only route I've ever taken is Dicey Mills and I enjoyed it. It's a nice, steady, walk in the woods. If you're looking for something challenging, however, Dicey wouldn't be the route (in my book anyway)...

As Alpinista said, Dicey's Mill is a steady moderate grade...nothing too steep. And I'd say bring the stabilicers, even though it is facing south and gets sun, you'll probably still find snow at higher elevations.

I've been up from the Kanc via Olivarian Brook Tr and Passaconaway Cutoff. OK too. Might have a bit more snow and ice than the southern routes.

Square Ledge Tr on the way up makes it a bit more interesting. Might be closed due to birds nesting on the cliffs.
