Next saturday the 18th, I was planning on hiking Adams or Madison, and staying at Billings Lodge, a Dartmouth Outing Club Cabin near the trailhead.
It turns out they're all full that night( the 17th)

Does anyone have recommendations for alternate accommodations near that trailhead? There will be 3-4 of us, and a kitchen would be nice.... Are there any places in Gorham that fit that bill?
Thanks!

great info!

thanks for that, quietman :D

I should probably learn to search old threads before posting a new one! :D

really great info, now at least I can make an informed decision. One of the guys I'm going with has nightmares where he screams....so the noise might actually help drown that out!! :D

were you guys at mitzpah hut in may? I shared a room with some guy that did this! scared the ***** out of me

i wasn't, but he mighta been...tall, grey, balding, glasses.
wicked nice guy, GREAT hikin' buddy, but the screamin' is kinda rough.

still and all, its hard to come by a good hikin' buddy, so i guess its a small price to pay... for me at least....I pity the poor suckers that get stuck within earshot of us at night

I've been asked to amend my previous description of aforementioned hikin' buddy to read as above...apparently I didn't present him in a positive enough light.... I felt it only fair to change it, as he isn't a member, and can't post his own rebuttal! :D (also, he threatened to toss me off the summit of Adams if I didn't, AFTER grabbing the car keys, of course!) :D

Aw, geez, Jason, you're makin' me blush. Actually, giggy, 'twas I letting out those blood-curdling screams due to a wickedly painful "crick" in my neck that weekend.

nah - wasn't you - there was a guy literally screaming klike he was being attack in his sleep. In fact - I thought he fell off the bunk at first.

I don't care - you sleep at a hut, hikers paradise, you got to expect that - don't bother me one bit. all part of the game... :)

Again, that's me. I've got Billings for the weekend but it's not full. Drop me a PM if you are interested.

And I was planning on staying at Hiker's on Friday night the 17th before going up Jefferson via Castle. (likely just me as other group members live closer)
