Twenty-five-year-old Robert Holmes of Canaan called for help shortly after midnight Sunday to say he was lost on Mt. Cardigan, where he had watched fireworks displays the night before. Search crews, including a helicopter, found him cold but otherwise unharmed.
Fish and Game Lt. Todd Bogardus said Holmes had been drinking before attempting to hike down.
