The weather forecast was excellent for this morning, so last night we decided to get up early and drive into Manhattan for the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. We left here at 6:30 and were parked 3 blocks from the parade start before 8, no traffic coming in. We made our way to Central Park West at 75th and had a 45 minute wait for the parade to begin. We were about 10 deep at 8am, which wasn't bad. 3 million people was the estimated viewers. By the time we left, 75th was about 100 deep. A quick stop at Starbucks, a $43 parking fee and we were back home by noon.

An excellent Thanksgiving morning. We have alot to be thankful for. I hope you and your family enjoy the day.

Here's a slideshow, thanks for looking.

I love NYC.

My brother-in-law who grew up in Manhattan always says : it's a great city but once you leave and see how good it is in other cities, you swear you'll never live there again.

Going for one morning only must be awesome. Still fall down there, isn't it ?

Hello Kitty Balloon!

My wife and I were parade participants for the second year in a row.

We were balloon holders for the HELLO KITTY Balloon!!! :)

It was an awesome time, and totally different weather than 2006. I don't think I saw a bare patch of sidewalk from 79th street to 34th, every piece of available real estate had a person on it!

Thank goodness you and Judi had better weather for it this year than last! Wish I could've seen it on TV but I was doing the Manchester Road Race in CT -- and it was a downright balmy 50-degrees-plus!
