The long way to Hopkins; you have to run if you want to get there in a reasonable time.
Trail conditions were great, thanks to the work of many volunteers and folks that support this event. This event has improved the condition of this trail a lot. The North trail to Giant is dry, pleasant and scenic all the way to the leanto sign. Then there are a couple wet spots from there to the Giant junction. The "bog section" on the way to Hopkins was actually quite dry this year, due to a mostly dry Spring. (This section really does need a reroute, but it's a lightly used trail, so it's probably not in the cards anytime soon.) It's also a little slippery coming down the back of Spread Eagle.
A little light rain part way through made it a great day for a run. A good time was had by all.
