Trail Conditions: Again, easy to follow but hard to find the parking area. It’s a small sign just north (or west) of Ausable Road, parking on the shoulder just before you cross the bridge for the East Branch Some PUD’s but a very pretty walk on easy to follow trails. Need to watch for turns near a couple of houses & near the col, a fair amount of blowdown but it’s a short hike to the top from there.

Special Equipment Required: Sunglasses and a camera, IMO better views than Hurricane. Bugs not too bad, 100’s of dragonflies on the top. Sunscreen on Friday a must.

Comments: Optional – This would be one of the top 52 WAV in New Hampshire, a clear view over Keene Valley looking at the valley between Colvin & Sawteeth. I probably should stop gushing about this gem or I’ll have to walk more on the road. Sadly, (for me but not you readers), the wild blueberries on Hopkins were too early. I did find a couple of mostly ripe ones though.
(this hike is awful – don’t go!!!!):D;)

Who me, use sarcasm?????:D:D:D Were my fingers on the keyboard?

(I'd be hard pressed to name 1/2 dozen better views on a 3K peak, especially outside BSP as South Turner, Coe, OJI & The Owl are all pretty good too) In the ADK's Vanderwhacker & Goodenow also offer stuning high peak views but the summit is fairly open on Hopkins, wide open looking south towards the Great Range where you need the fire towers on Vandy & Goodenow to enjoy the views)

Wait, those are all bad too :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:
