Hunter and Southwest Hunter 9/26/2011

[Paradox]

Laurie and Tom Rankin and I hiked up the Becker Hollow Trail to the Hunter Mountain Fire tower. This trail was in good shape, post Irene, the spring near the top was flowing cleanly and the water gave us no problems. The weather report for 9/26/2011 had not been good, but we found that the views were wonderful from the top of the tower. Tom and Laurie had a family function that afternoon so we parted company and I headed for Southwest Hunter via the Hunter Mountain Trail, The Devils Path and the herd path, all of which were in reasonably good order. I took The Devils Path down to Route 214 and walked the road back to the car.
