Trail mostly ice, with a dusting of snow to hide the ice occasionally. Started with microspikes then switched to crampons as the trail started getting steeper. Comfortable temps, very windy. Bundled up about 200 yards below the summit with full hood. Others in the group used ski goggles. Wind speed measured a peak gust of 38 mph -- which was sufficient to make you brace yourself or get blown over. Skies clear to the East, overcast to the West.
