Date of Hike: 05 -18 - 2013

Trail Conditions: Muddy in some spots including down by a Beaver Dam, bog bridges up high are in rough shape, requiring careful negotiating which I failed to do.

Special Equipment Required: Sunscreen, bugs were not too bad. poles critical to have after my foot injury. One spot in a switchback below some rocks where there was still snow and ice at roughly 3000 feet or so.

Comments: Optional - The day was incredible, spent a fair amount of time on top enjoying the scenery. One of the Dad's tried helping a young couple that locked their keys in the car. On the way down, one Dad had very sore knees while I slipped in the upper mud hole & either sprained or broke a bone in my foot. Discolored and a bit swollen today. Will see the MD on Tuesday, could not get in today. Views of many high peaks, and many in VT.

Medical Update - one bone on the outside of the right foot has an avulsion type fracture. Thanks to owning heavy leather boots, I can wear these instead of a medical splint type boot. Next hike will be in NH after Dad's Day. Wil probably hike the summer in heavy boots.
