I LOVE Owl's Head. I've been twice in summer and twice in winter. I enjoy the remote, wilderness feeling it gives; the sounds of the brook; and then that great scramble up its slide. In winter I like the bushwhack from Black Pond and then the ability to follow our snowshoe tracks for the return. When the weather on the summits is lousy, Owl's Head is a great option.
This one really is about 'journey, not the destination!'
