ID help for the bird that was almost eaten by the northern harrier

Same meadow, one day later, also at sunset, I heard an awful squealing and I thought something was being killed. As I approached I didn't realize that my lens was not on autofocus after the morning's mayhem :eek: . I saw movement in the brush and then the northern harrier sprung up and flew away. I didn't get a shot because of the autofocus being off. I swithched it on and looked closer at what was still sqealing, then this bird flushed and flew away in the opposite direction. I though it was a woodcock until I saw the pic. Any ID help?

By the way, look at the distant,right of the last two pics. It's a mating pair of moose. They are clearly seen as a bull and a cow in the original file.

Thanks. I guess it is a flicker, but it seemed so big, maybe because I was so close. The moose couple must have come out to the edge to see what was going on. I didn't even see them until I noticed them in the pics.
