Is this antler velvet?

Found this near the trailhead of Unknown Pond Trail, the one on Mill Brook Rd. It resembles pictures I've seen of recently shed velvet, and it's the right time of year. Any input appreciated.

I moved the whole thing, stick and velvet, to the trailhead so that other hikers may see it.

It appears so, yes. Most likely Moose. Whitetail tend to actually eat their velvet. You got yourself a real good find.....congrats!

I would have to agree that it is moose velvet.......great find indeed
