Isolation: rocky branch trail, unknown bushwhack, isolation trail, Davis path, fire engine hill bushwhack, rocky branch trail.

Trail conditions: hard packed trail to start and deepening drifts this morning once we began the descent towards the rocky branch brook. We followed the tracks of a barebooter who took an interpretive route towards the isolation trail but made it. On our way out the trail was very well broken out by numerous parties of snowshoers. The trail and snow bridges on the east side of isolation were softening but still supported us.

Equipment: snowshoes were extremely helpful and I was very glad to have brought them. Micro spikes sufficed for the initial ascent from the lot.

Comments: although it was windy and cold this morning the blustery cool air provided amazing views. We could actually see the cairn of eisenhower in the distance. A big thanks to dehydrator for another great hike.
