Trail Conditions: Lots of leaves on the ground towards the bottom of Glen Boulder, which, coupled with a few muddy patches, made for slow going. However, the upper part of the trail is in simply remarkable shape. The stretches above treeline are especially beautiful. The Davis Path is in great condition up until the junction with the Isolation trail, at which point it becomes quite wet and unpleasant. The bog bridges are quite decayed, so watch your step.
Special Equipment Required: Hat, gloves, and appropriate clothing for being above treeline at this time of year. It was very windy and cold, especially in the early morning.
Comments: What a spectacular hike! There were clouds in the valleys as I ascended Glen Boulder, which made for fantastically beautiful pictures. Amazingly, there was absolutely no ice at all on the trail... I can't imagine climbing Isolation in any other way after this trip.
