Trail conditions: Rocky Branch now packed out from route 16 to bushwack just past the height of land..Looks like someone headed down towards the shelter. We broke out Bushwack out to herd path just below 4th crossing on isolation Trail. Isolation now broken out to the campsites where we took a short detour and hit Davis Path..Davis path now broken out to isolation Spur which was snowcovered, no ice.
We were a little high on the slope for bushwack heading out..take the left hand branch for a more direct and open route. Some slush in spots on bushwack and Isolation Trails. Area around the campsites has all the "named" blowdowns in place. Davis Path a bit brushy in spots but smooth sailing
Equipment: snowshoes all the way today and will remain required as the trails are really just broken out..not packed.. .Soft snow took a lot of energy today..I know I ate twice what i usually do on a hike so and extra snickers or 3 not a bad idea..
Comments: Not much snow below height of land..maybe a foot..once into the glades 2 feet plus with occaisional punch throughs into some pretty deep spots..Lots of moose activity in the glades. The 5th crossing, the only one we did..was snow bridged but a bit creaky..we did it one at a time with no problem.. took a missturn near the campsites..take the right fork there.
We were greeted with long reaching views under a medium overcast..light winds and 14 degrees on the summit so we hung around awhile..Good day out
