Trail Conditions: DOABLE!!! Not as muddy as expected, rock steps, bog logs etc in most all the right places. First two water crossings require some submerged rock steps, approx. boot height, third and fourth easily avoided on bushwack. Fifth, piece of cake. Some overgrown areas, but short in duration. Spur path off Davis to Isolation summit, small cairn and obvious path to right, not as obvious sign high in tree on the left (going south).
Special Equipment: Waterproof gaiters i.e. winter type helpful, or extra socks, poles for water crossing stability esp. with heavier pack.
Comments: We heard alot of doom and gloom preparing for this hike, but found the conditions far less daunting than anticipated. Water crossings slowed us as my shorter leg length son (age 12..4'10") needed assistance, he wore my winter gaiters, did fine. My scree gaiters kept me mostly dry, but did change socks a couple times. With additional dry days this week, water levels will continue to be manageable and mud won't worsen.
