The Rocky Branch Trail up to 2800' is fairly dry and in good condition. From there to the Davis path you could describe the trail as rocky, rockier, rockiest, or wet, wetter, wettest, or muddy, muddier, muddiest--your choice. Whatever, you are not going to get through that section with dry feet. The Davis path was not as wet as the other sections. There were a few blowdowns here and there on the different trails, but nothing of any significance.
The water crossings on the Rocky Branch were not too difficult. There was a bit less water in the afternoon, but even the morning crossings were fairly easily done.
This was Flags on the 48 day, and there were 20 or 30 on the summit at noon, far too many to begin to list them, but it was like a VFTT homecoming day.
It was a very special day and a privilege to be counted among those who were there.
