A pretty good meltdown over the last week but the High Terrain is holding on. Looks like that might be changing. Latest from The RMC's FB Page:
Trail report as of January 3rd
🏔️

This mornings temperatures are in the single digits at Gray Knob. Snow stake total is 12” with deeper drifts in places. Traction is highly recommended above and below treeline. Areas of snow drifts and completely bare exposed rock above treeline. Trails at lower elevations have thick and large areas of ice. Water crossings are not entirely frozen and remaining snowbridges should not be trusted to walk on. Temperatures will dip below zero after sunrise and then struggle to rebound back to around zero on Friday afternoon. A reinforcing shot of cold air drops temperatures even lower Friday night and through Saturday. The high winds will make the cold air feel significantly colder on exposed skin, and exposure risks could develop in as little as 5 minutes through the forecast period. As a result, a wind chill warning will remain in effect through forecast period. Read the full higher summits forecast from @mwobs for the most updated warnings/advisory’s.
Please note that trail conditions can change very quickly in the Northern Presidentials. The conditions posted on this page may have changed since they were recorded. Always check local forecasts before you leave the trailhead, and be sure to check out the higher summits forecast on the @mwobs webpage.

It was 37° when I was on Washington last Saturday and I took my beanie off for a couple minutes. Until I realized my earlobes were absolutely stinging from the cold wind. It doesn't take much and those were lovely conditions. Cover up and be careful out there folks.

Those dudes with their shirts off on "The Moose" must have been feeling their nipples.
