Round two: 9am today, Our taskmaster, Pete along with his sons Doug and Jeff, DEC Forester Frank, DEC Ranger Rick, and 3500 Club members, aspirants and friends including; Carol, Dave, Jeff, Louise, Joe, Tom, Art, Colin, Tony, John, Bill, Mellonie, Cindy, Harry, Ralph, Cal, and Gordon set out for round two. I suggested to all of those AWESOME, STRONG hikers who signed on for this gig that a ride up would save much needed energy for later. Most of them listened to the suggestion and found alternative ways up the trail were fun!

We knew our work was cut out for us, with a large pile of logs left by the DEC to be moved to the lean-to site. Undaunted by the task and with 7 log carriers in hand, off a group went with the 1/2 ton deacon seat log. After some slight adjustments to the previous crew's well done foundation, things looked level. The floor was put on, additional logs were hauled in, stone masons went to work, painters came on board, the taskmaster added some touches, and the upper purlins were put in place.

To finish up round two, the roof overhang was supported,

and the day was done.

I cannot say thank you loud enough to each of you who went home today with sore aching muscles, a wonderful sense of accomplishment and a smile on your face as we worked so hard and accomplished so much, and even had a bit of fun here and there. I am very, very proud to be part of such an undertaking.
