Trails: Mount Jackson: via Webster-Jackson Trail and Jackson Brook
The trail was extremely well-packed with a compressed layer of fresh powder from recent snow. The rock face on the final ascent to the summit was icy and we skirted the exposed, well travelled middle and stayed a little to the left. By setting our poles carefully and side stepping we were able to get a good purchase.
Recommended Equipment We wore microspikes with no post-holing whatsoever.
Comments:The winds were a bit intense at the summit but we were rewarded with some decent views. Congratulations to Joe on his first winter 4000 footer! A great ending to the winter season.
FOUND: a pair of MSR snowshoes. Post a message or PM me and I will tell you where you dropped them.
