Trails: ascended via Castle Ravine Trail; redlined portions of Gulfside and The Cornice; descended via Castle Trail.
Trail Conditions: Trails were generally dry; some sections of mud and tiny section in the ravine when the trail and brook are one in the same. Castle Ravine well marked and easy to follow. Some hand-scrambling required on ascent and descent.
All brook crossings rock-hoppable today.
Comments: The upper talus field of the Castle Ravine Trail (last mile approaching the headwall) was much more stable than I had expected. Steep, yes... but very stable. Near the lip of the headwall, Spaulding Spring was a nice grassy shallow depression, and respite from the wind.
