No rain for 3 days prior to our hike meant the trail was generally dry and in great shape. Thursday started out completely clear at 8am, with partly sunny skies until our return to the car at 2:30pm. Apparently it rained hard shortly after that. Wind was 15-20 mph on the Caps and at the summit, but increased to 25 gusting to 30 on the descent. No bugs, very little mud (near the trail head) but a good number of other hikers for a Thursday - maybe 20-30 people at the top. The trail is getting a bit overgrown along the portion leading up to the lookout boulders at 1 mile, and between the boulders and the first "cap".
