Castle Trail to Jefferson, then Gulfside to Israel Ridge Path on descent
Beautiful early winter hiking, brilliantly clear, with little to no wind!
The trails are snow covered, beginning about halfway up, but are easily passable without snowshoes or crampons. There is some minor ice in a few spots below timberline. Poles were very helpful on the snow covered rocks... especially on the descent. There is one significant blow-down on the Israel Ridge Path. The stream crossings at the bottom were very tricky due to high water level.
