Mt. Katahdin via Saddle slide and Hamlin Ridge trails 7/14/13.
Trails very dry and crowded on this warm, sunny day. Plenty of bugs, though I think less than previously reported (never seen flies this big!). We blew through our 3 liters of water, and our sunscreen and Deet.
Baxter peak was quite busy, saw just one thru-hiker.
