trails: chimney pond trail, saddle trail, north west basin trail, hamlin ridge trail, north basin trail
conditions: trails were mostly dry and in good shape. a couple of wet spots on chimney pond trail and one or two wet ledges on the lower part of the hamlin ridge trail. pretty fresh and prolific blazing on saddle and hamlin ridge trails.
equipment: time to start thinking about cold weather clothing for days with this much exposure.
comments: a stunningly beautiful day on baxter and hamlin peaks. great views and interesting clouds all day. winds were pretty strong at times and quite chilly in spots. many thru hikers celebrating on baxter peak. thanks to mark, val and cynthia for a great couple of days hiking in baxter.
