kearsarge north, via mt kearsarge north trail. parked at lot on hurricane mtn. rd.. still some nice foliage. trail is gradual to start and follows a nearby brook. after about 30 minutes up, trail get rocky and rooty. leaves were dry so is was ok. could be very slippery when wet due to the amount of exposed roots. a great hike for a clear day. nice variety of tree species along trail. also, amazing how many 4000 footers you can see from this peak. about 2600 ft verticle rise, 3.1 miles each way. 2.40 up, 2.05 down. could not go into fire tower as they are still doing renovations to structure.
