Trail packed solid the whole way to the summit. A super highway. One step over blowdown. I wore my spikes the entire hike, some sort of traction needed due to the packed snow and ice. I started early to take advantage of the firm conditions, and was on the top by 9:30. Parts of the trail in direct sunshine were starting to soften up on the way down. I carried my snowshoes but the trail held out and I didn't use them. Nice sunny day but really windy this morning on the summit. Almost got blown over a few times. Met up with Ed'n Lauky on the way back and Steve Smith from the AMC. Nice talking with them. The trail is probably in the best shape for spring hiking now.
