Wheelerville Road frozen this AM, kind of muddy in a few places this PM..caution with snowmachine traffic...trailhead plowed, was quite crowded when we came out around 130 PM..
Bucklin Trail: heavy ski/snowboard traffic up past the second bridge crossing allowed us to use microspikes until we started the climb when we switched to snowshoes..kept them on the rest of the way up and down...it appears Michael and Monica (others?) laid a great snowshoe track up to the Cooper Lodge with a few ski tracks thrown in there too...at one point track took a sharp right off the blazes but reconnected up higher, most likely saved time and distance..there was some flagging and we knew we were headed in the right direction...we did take the steep spur to summit area and had to butt slide down the steepest spot...this PM the snow was starting to stick to the shoes so we will see what this week brings!! Nice hike with Rod as he is working on NE67...
