Just came back..great weather low 30's to mid 40's..the younger boy scouts (my son is one of them) had to do a 5 mile hike and orientate a map and work with a compass..all succeeded (sp?),,this might sound silly but I had to try my used koflachs on the trip..told by summithaus that they will send me a smaller pair but I should try out the ones they sent me.. It was tough for a while but I mananged going up to Perkins tower..it wa slippery on the leaves and I had to walk like a duck at times...now going down was a problem..the boots were a little big and my big toes were hitting the front..felt a few hot spots..my socks were sliding also..will send them back and get a smaller size and try them again...I felt embarassed walking around with them and I explained to the boys that i was trying equipment..I almost didn't wear them..ps I also carried my boots with me just in case they hurt. Wonder if they sell "equipment tester" bumper stickers that i can wear, like "student driver."
