Date of Hike: Tuesday, October 9th
Trails: Greenleaf, Franconia Ridge, Osseo, Lincoln Woods
Trail Conditions: Down low trails were dry and covered in leaves in many places. Nearing 4000 feet they became wet from snow falling/melting off the trees. After the hut, there started to be snow and rime ice. No real ice on the trails yet. Cold temps on the damp sections where snow was melting off the trees could change that. Mud in places periodically, but nothing bad.
Comments: Not a lot of people out on a cool weekday with clouds, less people on the southern end. There is snow and rime ice on Lafayette and Lincoln, but the trail was pretty clear. On a cloudy day from above, the foliage looks dull. Some places down low the trail goes through nice patches though with some leaves still to change.
