The trails we used to timberline have well-packed, still deep snow with minimal ice. Above timberline, fairly consistent snow cover and significant sections of hard ice. Couple of minor blowdowns. Snow bridges over streams are impressive and, at this point, bomber.

We wore Microspike ST's in the woods and crampons above timberline and managed very well. Snowshoes not needed until a warm-up (or storm) changes conditions.

Nice day with lots of sun, good views, a short, pretty snow shower and an occasional icy blast up high. Snow formations above timberline are beautiful. Fun to have the nearly full crew along. Mr Spoon was spotted but no sign of Big Blacky.
