Special Equipment: Compass & map navigation skills, plus previous bushwhack experience.
Comments: At the suggestion of my hiking partner Steve, we took a trek for a couple of miles on the Gordon Pond Trail before going off-trail to bushwhack to some ledges southwest of Gordon Pond Brook.
I had never been on the Gordon Pond Trail and was totally awed by the beauty of the mature hardwood forest surrounding this trail, and was equally impressed by the variety of wildflowers that are present there.
The off-trail bushwhack to the ledges was well worth the effort and provided some unique eastwardly views. (Please note that this should not be attempted unless you have previous bushwhack experience.)
Some photos taken from this trek are located HERE.
