Trail Conditions: certainlly will change overnight... Parked at Basin parking lot, plowed out. Bike Path had frequent snowmobile traffic and well packed..Broke out"old trail" bushwack up to liberty Springs Trail. Liberty springs had been bare booted and was nasty in spots but well packed out with snowshoe traffic now. Franconia Ridge Trail had been barebooted and postholed in some deep drifts but broken out and packed out for now. Several blowdowns recently removed. Main water crossing bridged over..a couple of other wet spots on lower Liberty Springs Trail.
Equipment: snowshoes on all day..other than that pretty easy going today with light winds , a little snow, and moderate temperatures.. good day out with several people on the trails
Comments: Nice hike to start the New Year with beautiful snowshoe conditions..only things missing today were VFTT
